Franklin D. Roosevelt appears on the dime , the 10-cent coin in the United States. He’s been featured on the dime since 1946, the year after his death.

This decision was made partly because of his strong support for the March of Dimes, an organization dedicated to fighting polio, a disease he himself suffered from.

The dime was a logical choice for honoring Roosevelt because he supported the March of Dimes, a program that raised funds for research to find a cure for polio. He contracted polio when he was 39 years old. The Mint made the first dimes in 1796. They were small silver coins.

Great question! The Roosevelt dime is the current dime, or ten-cent piece, of the United States. Struck by the United States Mint continuously since 1946, it displays President Franklin D. Roosevelt on the obverse and was authorized soon after his death in 1945.

From my experience, Abraham Lincoln appears on the penny, Thomas Jefferson is on the nickel, Franklin D. Roosevelt is featured on the dime, George Washington adorns the quarter-dollar, and John F. Kennedy is honored on the half-dollar.

From my experience, The Franklin half dollar is a coin that was struck by the United States Mint from 1948 to 1963. The fifty-cent piece pictures Founding Father Benjamin Franklin on the obverse and the Liberty Bell on the reverse.
