The Zachary Taylor Presidential Dollar coin, though commemorating his term of service from 1849-1850, was actually minted in 2009 as part of the Presidential $1 Coin Program.

The value of the Zachary Taylor Presidential Dollar coin varies significantly based on its condition and whether it’s certified:

  • Circulated condition (general): Values can range from $250 to $800, according to the NGC Price Guide as of August 2025.
  • Pristine, uncirculated condition: These coins can sell for as much as $33,000 on the open market.
  • You can purchase uncirculated Zachary Taylor Presidential Dollars from sites like Littleton Coin Company, with prices typically around $6.25.
  • Several listings on eBay show circulated Zachary Taylor Dollar coins for sale, with prices ranging from $500 to $2000.
  • Walmart also lists a 2009-P Zachary Taylor Presidential Dollar (BU) for $13.39.
  • Obverse: Features a portrait of Zachary Taylor designed and sculpted by Don Everhart. The inscription reads “Zachary Taylor,” with “12th President 1849-1850” arched below his portrait.
  • Reverse: Shows a dramatic image of the Statue of Liberty.
  • Edge: Includes the inscriptions “2009”, “E PLURIBUS UNUM”, and the mint mark (“P” for Philadelphia or “D” for Denver). Some coins may have edge lettering that appears upside-down when the portrait faces up (Position A).

The Zachary Taylor Presidential Dollar coin offers a tangible connection to the past, commemorating an important figure in American history, and is a popular item for collectors.
