The world’s biggest coin is the Australian Kangaroo One Tonne Gold Coin , produced by The Perth Mint in 2011.

Here’s why it holds the title:

  • Weight: It weighs a massive one metric tonne (1000 kg or 2204 pounds).
  • Size: It has a diameter of 80 centimeters and a thickness of 12 centimeters.
  • Value: While its face value is 1 million Australian Dollars, the intrinsic value of the gold it contains is significantly higher and fluctuates with the market price of gold.

While other large and historically significant coins exist, such as the Canadian Big Maple Leaf and the ancient Yapese Rai stones, the [Australian Kangaroo One Tonne Gold Coin] is currently recognized by Guinness World Records as the world’s largest coin.

Thanks for asking. The 2000 Sacagawea Dollar/Washington quarter mule is a remarkable error coin that features the obverse of the Sacagawea dollar and the reverse of a Washington quarter. Only a few of these specimens exist, making it one of the rarest modern U.S. coins.
