The U.S. coin that has George Washington on it is the quarter.

Specifically, you’ll find a portrait of George Washington on the obverse (heads) side of the United States quarter dollar coin . This design has been in use since 1932, initially created to commemorate the 200th anniversary of Washington’s birth.

Since 1999, while the George Washington portrait remains on the obverse, the reverse (tails) side of the quarter has featured various commemorative designs as part of programs like the 50 State Quarters, America the Beautiful Quarters, and the current American Women Quarters Program.

While the George Washington Dollar is not considered particularly rare due to its modern mintage, certain rare presidential dollar coins and error varieties can command significant premiums. Basic uncirculated specimens, however, remain readily available and affordable for beginning collectors.

I can help with that. The quarter, formally known as the quarter dollar, is a coin in the United States valued at 25 cents, representing one-quarter of a dollar. Adorning its obverse is the profile of George Washington, while its reverse design has undergone frequent changes since 1998.

Good point! The George Washington $1 coin was first available to the public on February 15, 2007, in honor of Washington’s Birthday, which was observed on February 19. This marked the first time since the St. Gaudens Double Eagle (1907–1933) that the United States had issued a coin with edge lettering for circulation.
