Paperless Post utilizes a system of virtual credits called “Coins” to send invitations and cards, especially for premium features.

Here’s how the coin system works:

  • Cost per Coin varies by package size: Larger Coin packages offer a lower price per Coin.
  • Examples of Coin Packages:

– 25 Coins for $12 ($0.48 each).
– 100 Coins for $22 ($0.22 each).
– 125 Coins for $29 ($0.24 each).
– 300 Coins for $50 ($0.17 each).
– 1000 Coins for $115 ($0.12 each).

  • Cost per invitation: A premium card starts at 2 coins per recipient, [according to Paperless Post] . Additional premium elements like envelopes, liners, backdrops, logos, and stamps add extra coins per recipient.
  • Removing Premium Features: You can remove premium elements to reduce the cost of your invitation.
  • Free Options: Paperless Post offers free cards and flyers, but some features might be limited or require the removal of premium options to be sent completely free, especially if sending to more than 50 guests.
  • Coin Calculator: Paperless Post provides a Coin Calculator to help you determine the total cost of your mailing based on your chosen design and guest list size.
  • Unused Coins: Any unused coins remain in your account for future use.
  • Paperless Pro Subscription: For businesses or individuals who frequently send invitations, Paperless Post offers a subscription model (Paperless Pro) with annual pricing that eliminates the need for Coins.

In essence, the cost depends on your chosen design, the number of premium features you include, and the number of guests you invite. The price per invitation can range from free (for basic, non-premium designs sent to a smaller guest list) to over $1 per recipient with premium options, according to The Budget Savvy Bride.

Great question! Per our Terms of Service, Coins are non-refundable, non-transferrable, and unused purchased Coins may be forfeited if your account is inactive for 5 years, under applicable U.S. state escheat law. Unused Free Coins expire one year after being granted to you by Paperless Post.
