Yes, many banks and credit unions will provide customers with coin wrappers for free.

However, policies can vary between institutions and sometimes even between branches of the same bank, so it’s always a good idea to confirm with your specific bank or credit union if you need coin wrappers.

  • Customer Status: Some banks may offer coin wrappers to both customers and non-customers, while others may limit this service to account holders only.
  • Coin Exchange Policies: It’s important to understand your bank’s policy on handling rolled coins. Some banks require coins to be rolled for deposits or exchanges, while others may have coin-counting machines available.
  • Alternatives: If your bank doesn’t provide free wrappers, or if you prefer to get them elsewhere, you can purchase coin wrappers at office supply stores or online retailers.

Thanks for asking. Although every bank will give out free coin wrappers, not every bank will accept your rolled coins if you are a non-customer. Chase Bank has rather generous policies for non-customers, who can exchange up to $200 in coins as long as they’re in coin wrappers.

From my experience, Banks often give out free coin wrappers for customers to use. You’ll sort your coins into pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters and then wrap them yourself. After the bank teller counts your coins, they will give you cash in exchange or send a deposit to your savings or checking account.

      Key Takeaways
Your local bank branch is a good place to exchange coins. The branch will typically give you coin wrappers for free. Credit unions or community banks are more likely to have free coin-counting machines for members.

I can help with that. Go to the teller at your local bank, and slide them a hand written note asking for all their coins.
