Abraham Lincoln dollar coins are part of the Presidential Dollar series, minted by the U.S. Mint from 2007 to 2011 for circulation and from 2012 to 2020 for collectors . The Lincoln dollar coin was issued in 2010.

In most cases, the value of an Abraham Lincoln dollar coin will be close to its face value of $1. However, the value can be higher for uncirculated coins or those with errors:

  • Uncirculated coins: A 2010 Abraham Lincoln Presidential Dollar in uncirculated, collectible condition from the Philadelphia Mint can be purchased for around $9.75. A similar coin from the Denver Mint in mint state (MS) condition has been valued at $1.05 to $14, depending on the specific grade (from good to a high grade like MS66). Some eBay listings show Abraham Lincoln dollar coins from 1861-1865 (likely referring to the presidential years rather than the minting year) being sold for prices ranging from $520 to $1000, and even a “rare” one for $700, though these aren’t professionally graded. Another listing offers a 2010 P&D set as “extremely rare” for $2500. However, it is important to be cautious of listings that might overstate rarity or value.
  • Error coins: The most valuable Presidential Dollars are those with missing edge lettering , including the phrase “E Pluribus Unum”, the mint mark, and the date. Some Presidential Dollar coins with errors can be quite valuable. For example, a 2009 William Henry Harrison coin with missing edge lettering and a high grade (69/70) has sold for up to $2,450. While not specific to the Lincoln dollar, it’s worth noting that errors can significantly increase value.

The Presidential Dollar coins were made with a pure copper core and outer layers of manganese brass, giving them a golden color. They are not made of gold.

In conclusion, while most Abraham Lincoln dollar coins are worth close to their face value, collectors may find some uncirculated coins or those with errors that carry a higher value. Be sure to assess the condition and authenticity carefully, and consult with reputable coin dealers or grading services if you are unsure about the value of your coin.

The reverse has a lovely view of the Statue of Liberty and ‘United States of America’ as well as’ $1′. The coin was minted at different mints and today, a fair market resale value is between 5 and 20 usd in auction, on Ebay.

I can help with that. The Abraham Lincoln Presidential $1 Coin honors the 16th President of the United States. Abraham Lincoln was born February 12, 1809, near Hodgenville, Ky., into a poor frontier family. A self-taught lawyer, he also served in the Illinois legislature and the U.S. House of Representatives.
