  • Uncirculated Condition:

– Uncirculated 1801 Draped Bust Dollars are much rarer and more valuable.
– An 1801 Draped Bust Dollar in circulated condition is worth between $1200 and $20750.
– In pristine, uncirculated condition, they can sell for as much as $425,000.
– A PCGS MS65 specimen was sold in 2020 for $246,750.

Key factors affecting value:

  • Condition: The better the condition (less wear, scratches, or damage), the higher the value.
  • Mintage: Only 54,454 of these coins were minted, making them relatively rare.
  • Survival Rate: It’s estimated that only about 2,000 still exist in all grades.

Thanks for asking. Thomas Jefferson dollar coin value is different when it comes to face and collector value at the same time. As part of the Presidential $1 Coin Program, the coin was meant for wide circulation and has a face value of $1. The price of such instances stays near face value for the majority of samples that are distributed.
