1801 Gold Dollar Coin Value: $1,200 to $425,000 Based on Condition

A U.S. gold dollar coin from 1801 is part of the early dollar series (1794-1804). It was minted in Philadelphia and designed by Robert Scot.

However, the composition of these coins was silver, not gold. The melt value of the silver as of August 2025 is $29.46.

The value of an 1801 dollar coin varies significantly depending on its condition and grading. According to the NGC Price Guide (August 2025), a circulated 1801 dollar coin can be worth between $1,200 and $20,750. Uncirculated, pristine condition 1801 silver dollars can sell for as much as $425,000.
