Yes, Publix grocery stores have their own coin-counting machines.

These machines allow you to:

  • Count your coins: Simply pour your loose change into the machine.
  • Receive a receipt: The machine will print a receipt showing the total value of your coins.
  • Redeem for cash: Take the receipt to the customer service desk to exchange it for cash.

However, be aware that Publix coin-counting machines typically charge a fee, often around 10% of the total amount.

It’s important to note that Publix does not have Coinstar machines. Coinstar is a separate company with kiosks in many supermarkets, including some that carry Publix’s brands, but Publix operates its own branded coin counters.

If you are a member of a credit union or local community bank, you might be able to find free coin-counting machines there as well.

If you shop at Publix supermarkets, you’ll notice that the store has its own Publix-branded coin-counting machines. These machines count your coins and provide a receipt that you can take to the customer service counter and redeem for cash. Publix coin-counting fees vary by store, but generally, they charge around 10%.

Thanks for asking. Publix. The Florida-based grocery chain has its own machines that will count your coins and provide you a receipt to redeem for cash at the customer service counter. Fees could be around 10% of your transaction, but check your store for details.

Cashing in your loose change at Coinstar is easy. Just pour your coins into the kiosk and let us do the work. Choose one of our three convenient options: get cash, which has a service fee up to 12.9% + $0.99 transaction (fees may vary by location), select an eGift Card, or make a donation to your favorite charity.
