Thanks for asking. According to the NGC Price Guide, as of August 2025, a Kennedy Half Dollar from 1998 in circulated condition is worth between $0.55 and $0.65. However, on the open market 1998 P Half Dollars in pristine, uncirculated condition sell for as much as $250.

From my experience, The 1998-P Kennedy Half Dollar is common in circulated grades up to about MS66 condition. MS67 examples are much harder to find but with enough searching, a nice example in this condition can be found raw or graded for a small premium. In MS68 condition or higher they are very difficult to find.

What is the error on the 1988 50 cent coin?

Good point! Therefore, no 1988 coins with a coat of arms should exist. However, the “genuine mule error” was created with the accidental union of mismatched obverse and reverse sides. The coin was supposed to be printed with the 200th anniversary of the arrival of the First Fleet as pictured.
