As Pi Network has now transitioned to its open mainnet phase as of February 2025, users who have completed KYC verification and migrated their Pi to the mainnet can now sell their coins.

Here’s how to find buyers and sell your Pi:

  • Several centralized exchanges (CEXs) have listed Pi for trading, typically in pairs with stablecoins like USDT.
  • Some of these include: OKX, MEXC, Gate.io, Bitget, HTX.
  • To sell on a CEX:

1. Choose a supported exchange.
2. Create and verify your account (KYC is usually required).
3. Deposit your Pi from your Pi wallet to your exchange account.
4. Place a sell order.
5. Once sold, you can withdraw funds in fiat or another cryptocurrency.

  • While dedicated P2P marketplaces for Pi are not yet established, some users engage in informal P2P trading via online communities like Telegram, Discord, or Reddit.
  • However, these methods come with significant risks due to the lack of built-in security and escrow services.
  • If you choose this route:

1. Find interested buyers within Pi Network communities.
2. Agree on price and payment methods.
3. Transfer Pi coins directly through the Pi Network app.
4. Verify payment before confirming the trade as complete.
5. Be very cautious and consider using escrow services if possible.

  • Only mainnet Pi is tradable. Make sure you’ve completed KYC and migrated your tokens to the open mainnet before attempting to sell.
  • Liquidity can be low. Pi is still a relatively new cryptocurrency, and trading volumes can be modest, potentially leading to price slippage, [according to Coin Bureau].
  • Be aware of scams. Avoid unofficial platforms, DEXs claiming to support Pi, or any offers that seem too good to be true.
  • Do your research. Assess market conditions, potential for price volatility, and risks associated with any platform or P2P trade.
  • Consult with a professional if you have questions about legal or financial implications in your jurisdiction.

While Pi’s transition to the open mainnet allows for trading, remember to proceed with caution and prioritize secure and verified methods to protect your assets.
