From my experience, 1979 Kennedy Half Struck On A SBA Planchet
8.1 grams. A very rare wrong planchet combination. While Cents struck on Dime planchets are found without great difficulty, Anthony Dollars were struck for circulation only three years (1979, 1980, and 1999) and Kennedy Halves also had limited mintages those years.

Great question! And the rim of the coin. The rim and the date are almost touching on the wide rim variety. The wide rim variety adds a nice premium to your coin. In grade 40 the wide rim dollar is worth about $12.

How much silver is in a 1979 Kennedy half dollar?

Starting with 1965-dated coins, the percentage of fine silver was reduced from 90% to 40% (silver clad), but even with this change the coin saw little circulation. In 1971, silver was eliminated entirely from the half dollar.
