The value of a 1966 coin depends on several factors, including the coin’s denomination, condition, and whether it has any errors.

  • Circulated quarters: Generally worth their face value ($0.25) to $0.50.
  • Uncirculated quarters: Can fetch higher prices, ranging from $1 to $10+ for standard coins in Mint State (MS) grades.

– MS-65: $15.00 – $50.00.
– MS-67+: $500.00 – $21,000+. The highest price recorded for a 1966 Washington quarter is $21,000 for an MS-68+ graded coin.

  • Special Mint Set (SMS) coins: These coins, released in place of proof sets, were of higher quality than circulated coins. They can range from $3 to $50+, depending on quality and designations.

– SMS coins with Cameo (CAM) designations can be worth even more, with an SP68 CAM graded coin selling for $4,113.
– SMS coins with Deep Cameo (DCAM) designations are the most valuable, with an SP68 DCAM selling for $6,500.

I can help with that. According to the NGC Price Guide, as of August 2025, a Washington Quarter from 1966 in circulated condition is worth between $0.30 and $0.85. However, on the open market 1966 Quarters in pristine, uncirculated condition sell for as much as $5750.
