The Long Beach Coin, Currency, Stamp & Sports Collectible Show, also known as the Long Beach Expo, has made the decision to pause its June and September shows for 2025.
Reason for the change
This adjustment comes as a response to rising costs associated with hosting the events.
Focus on the February show
The Long Beach Expo is focusing its efforts on the upcoming show scheduled for February 20-22, 2025. This will be their only show for the year.
Future plans
The organization’s priority remains on the core mission of its parent company, PCGS (Professional Coin Grading Service), delivering industry-leading grading and authentication services. They are reassessing how to best serve the community, considering changes to the cadence of the shows, exploring new venues, or taking a different approach to ensure events can happen without excessive costs for vendors or attendees.
Note: While specific shows have been paused, the Long Beach Expo is not permanently canceled and aims to continue its presence in the collectibles community, focusing on the February show in 2025.
Can I sell my coins at a coin show?
From my experience, A coin show is also an event that allows the public to sell coins to dealers. A show offers a coin collector the opportunity to meet multiple dealers and see a variety of coins, books, paper money and tokens.
What is the etiquette for coin shows?
I can help with that. Etiquette is important
Don’t interrupt a dealer and customer who are talking or in the middle of a transaction. Don’t ask to see the coins in question or ask about their prices. Do return to the dealer’s table when he or she has concluded the transaction. Don’t block customers’ access to a dealer’s table.
Are coin shows worth going to?
Coin shows are really fun and a great way to learn, meet more people, and grow as a collector. I compiled a quick top 10 list of things that you can do at a coin show and hopefully it will convince you to go! Whether it is based off of monetary profit as a semi-dealer experience or it’s just meeting new people and enjo.
